Privacy Policy
Money CheckIn (the “App”) is operated by Kaizer Inc., a New York corporation (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the App and the website kaizerapps.com collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | E-mail address, name (if you sign in with Google or Apple), password (stored only as a one-way hash) | To create your account and let you sign in |
| Bank data (only if you connect a bank) | Account names and the last digits of account numbers, balances, transactions: date, amount, description, merchant | To show and categorize your transactions |
| Data you enter or import | Cash entries, CSV statements, categories, rules, notes, vendors and their contact details, contract names and dates | To build your reports |
| Subscription status | Plan, trial and renewal dates, transaction IDs from Apple or Stripe | To give you access to what you paid for |
| Technical data | IP address and device/browser type in server logs, a session cookie that keeps you signed in | Security and keeping the service running |
We do not collect your bank username or password, full card numbers, your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
2. How we use information
- To provide the App: sync and display transactions, apply your rules, and build reports.
- To manage your account and subscription and to answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To send service messages (for example, about your account or subscription). We don't send marketing e-mail without your consent.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the App, and only what each one needs:
- Plaid Inc. connects your bank when you choose to. You give your bank credentials to Plaid, not to us. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Apple processes in-app subscription payments and Sign in with Apple. Stripe processes subscription payments made on the web. We never receive your full card number.
- Google provides Sign in with Google, if you use it.
- Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) stores the App's servers and database in the United States.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy will continue to apply).
4. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Bank access tokens and transaction descriptions are encrypted in our database. Access to servers is limited to the people who maintain the App. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account data, transactions and bank connections within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example, payment records), which are kept only as long as required. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
6. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect a bank at any time in the App; we stop receiving its data.
- Delete your account in the App under Settings → Delete account, or by e-mailing us.
- Access, correct or get a copy of your data by contacting us.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. Residents of other states with privacy laws have similar rights. To make a request, e-mail us; we will verify the request through your account e-mail.
7. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the App or by e-mail.
